These days, goalie goals are starting to be handed out like prizes on the Oprah Winfrey Show.
You get a goal . . . and you get a goal . . . and you get a goal.
Well, okay, it hasn't been that prolific. But for the second time in as many weeks, a goalie has scored.
NHL veteran Laurent Brossoit, on an injury rehab assignment with the AHL Rockford IceHogs. scored a goal against the Milwaukee Admirals. Firing a puck the length of the ice into an empty Milwaukee net, Brossoit clinched a 5-3 Rockford victory.
You love to see it! 🚨

The IceHogs are the top farm club for the Chicago Blackhawks. The Blackhawks signed Brossoit to a two-year contract as an unrestricted free agent during the summer of 2024. He underwent knee and hip surgeries and missed the entire 2024-25 season. Brossoit just recently returned to action.
The 32-year-old netminder has played 140 NHL games over 10 seasons with the Edmonton Oilers, Winnipeg Jets, and Vegas Golden Knights. He was part of the Vegas team that won the Stanley Cup in 2022-23.
He's 64-46-13 with a 2.64 goals-against average, six shutouts, and a .911 save percentage as an NHLer.
His return to health might place Brossoit in a position as a prime trade target for teams in search of an upgrade in net. Chicago is set with Spencer Knight as No. 1 goalie. Arvid Soderblom is the backup in Chicago.
