Unique Goalie Fight in Pro Lacrosse Game

Everyone loves a goalie fight. That's really not debatable.

Does it matter what sport in which the goalie fight takes place, though?

Probably not, we're guessing.

Over the holiday season, two National Lacrosse League netminders were more in the spirit of filling each other in than they were in the spirit of giving. Unless you're taking into account delivering haymakers to each other. It happened near the conclusion of a line brawl during a game between the Rochester Knighthawks and Philadelphia Wings. Just when it appeared that cooler heads were prevailing, Rochester's Rylan Hartley and Philadelphia's Nick Damude left their respective nets.Stalking each other to midfield, both goaltenders doffed their masks and their heavy upper-body armor, freeing their arms and squared off to begin chucking knuckles.

If you were scoring the bout at home, you'd have to give the decision to Hartley. He landed the most blows and certainly delivered the more telling blows. He's also the more experienced fighter. It was Hartley's second fight of the season, leaving a casual observer to assume that he's a lacrosse cross between Billy Smith and Ron Hextall.

Both goalies were kicked out of the game. Riley Hutchcraft, who replaced Hartley in the Rochester goal, got into a scuffle of his own with Philadelphia forward Dalton Young when Young shot the ball at him following the final buzzer.
